Which, I know &#8211; and stop screaming in my ears, dating book authors &#8211; should have set alarm bells ringing right and there and I SHOULD have just called the date off once ten o&#8217;clock came and went with no sign of him.  (he had other drinks to go to first and cricket to play before he went &#8211; and watch me try to make excuses 2 years on!)  It was APPALLING behaviour, all things considered, and I should have realised far sooner that I was WAY further down the priority list than I should have been.  But I was so desperate (yes, I admit it) for this to be The One and for it all to work out that I ignored a lot of obvious signs that Possibly It Wasn&#8217;t (yeah, I still think It Was, but I&#8217;m humouring you).<\/p>\n<p>So, 2 years to the day, a lot to think about, and still no sign of his return into my waiting, open arms.  Which I should be keeping closed.
